Flixfox Privacy & Data Protection Policy

Flixfox is a regional-first media directory for audiences across India, and this policy sets out, in plain terms, how it handles data. The app was built to put the cinema of India's own languages at the front of the experience, and the same principle of respect extends to privacy: Flixfox is designed to run on the least personal information a media directory reasonably can. The policy is prepared in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000, and it governs use on Android phones, Android TVs, and Fire TV Stick.

Free to watch, and account-free

Flixfox is free, and it requires no account. There is no registration step, no email or phone number to provide, and no user profile assembled in the background. Every viewer explores the catalogue, opens a title, and begins 1080p playback as a guest. Because no identity is gathered at any point, none can later be disclosed, sold, or exposed. For an app whose purpose is simply to help people find the films of their own language, that restraint is deliberate.

Language preferences, held on the device

Because Flixfox is organised around India's linguistic diversity, it lets you set a preference across Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. That preference is written only to the local cache on your own device. Flixfox does not compile it into a central dossier of viewing or linguistic habits. On the device, it arranges the home-screen showcases, shapes the discovery sections, aligns the regional audio a title offers, and pre-selects matching subtitles in the player, and none of that is transmitted to any outside advertising network.

The diagnostic data the app reads

So that playback holds steady across the many Android devices and network conditions found across India, Flixfox reads a small set of non-identifying diagnostic details: the Android build, the screen aspect ratio, the processor architecture, and available memory. These describe the device rather than the viewer, and they let the system balance indexing throughput and keep video from stalling. The data contains no personal identifiers and cannot be used to recognise an individual.

Advertising

Flixfox is kept free through light, standard advertising supplied by established third-party networks such as Google AdMob. These networks may use the anonymous Android Advertising ID to manage advertising frequency; the identifier bears no name, address, or contact detail, and its handling follows each network's own privacy policy. It can be reset or switched off at any time within your Android privacy settings. Flixfox itself compiles no advertising profile and shares no linguistic or viewing choices for ad targeting.

Desktop use and virtualized isolation

Flixfox is programmed natively and only for Android, including Android phones, Android TVs, and Fire TV Stick. It is not a native Windows or macOS application. Where a viewer runs Flixfox on a desktop through a third-party Android emulator such as BlueStacks or LDPlayer, it operates within that emulator's isolated container. In such a setup, Flixfox cannot scan, access, or record files, browsing histories, or registry entries belonging to the host computer's own operating system.

Your rights and the Grievance Officer

Indian law guarantees you full control of the data stored on your device, and Flixfox keeps that control in your hands. Selecting “Clear Cache” or “Clear Data” in your Android application settings erases local usage logs, search history, and language selections at once, and uninstalling removes the rest. In adherence to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, Flixfox maintains a formally appointed Grievance Officer. A query submitted through our online help desk is acknowledged within 24 hours and addressed within the statutory 15-day window.
